Microwave Evaporation of Acids
A microwave evaporation process for acids with boiling points below 150 oC, such as nitric acid (HNO3), hydrochloric acid (HCl) and hydrofluoric acid (HF) is introduced below. The temperature is controlled via contactless in-situ temperature sensor (DIRC) to ensure efficient evaporation. The evaporation step is conducted after microwave digestion of a sample as dedicated Application Notes for the respective sample. This method is applicable in various types of microwave digestion
vessels as given in the instrumentation part.
