Microwave Evaporation of Acids
A microwave evaporation process for acids with boiling points below 150 °C, such as nitric acid (HNO3), hydrochloric acid (HCl) and hydrofluoric acid (HF) is introduced below. The temperature is controlled via contactless in-situ temperature sensor (DIRC) to ensure efficient evaporation. The evaporation step is conducted after microwave digestion of a sample as dedicated Application Notes for the respective sample. This method is applicable in various types of microwave digestion
vessels as given in the instrumentation part.
