DB-1000 high pressure reactor in use at Silantes GmbH
User
Silantes GmbH from Munich is a spin-off of the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry and specialises in the metabolic labelling of biomolecules with stable isotopes (SI). Through the biotechnological fermentation of microorganisms such as bacteria, algae and yeasts, Silantes can obtain fully 13C, 15N and 2H-labelled biomass from inorganic SI-labelled raw materials and extract the desired biomolecules. From this, for example, SI amino acids and nucleotides are obtained and media and mouse feed are produced for applications in structure elucidation, proteomics or metabolomics in university and industrial research.
APPLICATION
The reactor is used with a PTFE liner for acid hydrolysis (6 M hydrochloric acid) of protein fractions and peptides.
CUSTOMER VOICE
Due to our satisfaction with our old Berghof reactor during its long service life in our laboratory and the associated
good service, e.g. for repairs, we decided to replace the old unit with the DB-1000 with the BRTR-88 controller. The
PTFE lining and the associated corrosion protection make it ideal for our acid hydrolysis process.
