UnterlassLAB wins DAB-2 pressure vessels

UnterlassLAB wins digestec DAB-2 set at MOF2020web

At 7th International Conference on Metal-Organic Frameworks and Open Framework Compounds (MOF2020web), Berghof Products + Instruments GmbH has organized a raffle with a set of two digestec DAB-2 pressure vessels, a transportation rack and a mounting station as winnings. Lucky winner of the lottery was conference participant Musthafa Iqbal from the UnterlassLAB at Technische Universität Wien.

The UnterlassLAB working group at the Technische Universität Wien is affiliated to both the Institute of Materials Chemistry and the Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry. Led by Prof. Dr. Miriam Unterlass, the working group conducts research on the making of advanced organic compounds for high-performance materials and for applications in biology. The focus of research is the development of processes requiring hot water as solvent only, the so-called hydrothermal syntheses. The goal is to contribute with sustainable, environmentally friendly, efficient and simple processes to the areas of high-performance materials and biology. In order to meet this goal, the UnterlassLAB working group cooperates with users from practice.

The DAB-2 pressure vessels are a perfect addition to the UnterlassLAB working group’s laboratory equipment. The PTFE inserts in combination with the PTFE lid of the pressure vessels allow performing hydrothermal syntheses in a completely metal-free environment. Furthermore, the DAB-2 pressure vessels can be operated up to a maximum temperature of 250 °C. In addition, it is very easy to handle the DAB-2 pressure vessels. Using the mounting station, opening and closing of the vessels is intuitive, fast and safe.
